The Archbishop of Juba said the government released Bakhita Radios’ keys and that he keeps it closed to ‘recheck’ the situation of the Voice of the Church.

Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro said security personnel closed the Radio because they claimed it was not keeping journalists’ ethics.

He disclosed that it was a good call so that people in South Sudan work to be good citizens.

Archbishop Lukudu  complained that the Radio belongs to the Archdiocese and that it was not fair to close it without consulting him.

The Catholic prelate advised journalists to observe and follow conditions of their service to the people and work responsibly with accuracy.

Archbishop Lukudu made the statement on Friday while addressing the press after the four-day meeting of South Sudan Catholic Bishops under the theme: ‘War is evil, war cannot bring peace. This war must end’.
