Girls Education of South Sudan or GESS Program conducted a mentoring training for liaison officers on how to improve girl’s enrolment, retention and learning at primary and secondary schools.
GESS Program Coordinator Sally Haiselden told Voice of Hope on Wednesday that the workshop aimed at training more officers to carry out enrolment programs in girls’ schools.
She explained that the trainees are expected to learn skills to be good mentors and how to help prevent girls from dropping out from schools, early marriages and use of contraceptives.
Ms Haiselden said the training brought together 30 participants from Warrap, Northern and Western Bahr el Ghazal States.
