United Nations High Commissioner for Refugee or UNHCR and South Sudan authorities on Saturday launched biometric registration of IDPs in Nimule.
In a statement CRN obtained, Eastern Equatoria government, UNHCR and partners joined local authorities in Nimule to launch the seven-day exercise.
It said two registration centers were set up at Melijo Primary School and the Baptist Church in Nimule.
UNHCR and partners appreciated Eastern Equatoria government and national Relief and Rehabilitation Commission for promoting and supporting the initiative.
It urged the IDPs to bring all household members and related documents, including identity documents, school certificates, birth certificates, ration cards for accuracy.
Majority of the IDPs are from Jonglei State, mainly children, women and elderly.
