Western Bahr El Ghazal Governor denied State Assembly’s charges accusing him of interfering and bribing parliamentarians against the speaker.

Rizik Zachariah Hassan told journalists on Thursday that Assembly’s allegation were not realistic, clarifying that the state budget is controlled by the Finance Ministry and that no institution deserves a separate account, Voice of Hope reported.

He was reacting to the Assembly Speaker Andrea Acho Mayor who on Monday accused him of demanding a separate account.

Governor Zachariah also denied appointing specialized committee heads, adding that the committees’ heads appointment was deliberated in the assembly.

The arrival of WBG State Assembly Speaker with charges against the Governor sent fear of fresh tensions between the executive and the legislative organs.

Sources at the assembly said members are already divided with fear that former specialized committee heads might resume their positions.
