National AIDS Commission is launching the World AIDS Day on Friday marking the beginning of preparations for the actual celebration on December 1 under the national theme: “Engaging voices of the youth in the HIV and AIDS response in South Sudan”.
In a statement on Thursday, the Commission said the Day is dedicated to commemorate those who passed away with the virus and intensify awareness against stigma and discrimination.
The statement added that the World AIDS Day commemoration would reflect on the national and global response achieved and what needs to be achieved.
The World is expected to celebrate the Day under the theme: ‘ZERO new HIV infections, ZERO discrimination and ZERO AIDS-related deaths.’
