Residents of Minyori Quarter Council in Yei Municipality are demanding local authorities to set proper waste management to prevent outbreak of diseases in the area.
The area sub-chief Hillary Abdullah requested installation of permanent personnel to monitor waste dumping at the site, Easter Radio reported.
Yei Mayor Santo Paul Lasuba expressed readiness to set proper mechanism in place to address the challenging condition.
Last week Minyori Quarter Council authorities petitioned the Municipality, calling for closure of the dumping area due to what they termed ‘improper dumping of waste’ on the single street.
