National AIDS Commission Deputy Chairperson said the killer disease infects an estimated thirteen thousand people annually and that now there are about 153 thousand people HIV positive.
Achol Ayom Dor during the launch of HIV and AIDS in preparation for December world AIDS day said South Sudan is among the countries within the lowest treatment targets.
She said it is government, civil society, youth, UN and donors’ collective responsibility to play a critical role in fighting against the disease to realize zero new infection, zero related deaths and zero discrimination.
