European Commission Humanitarian Operations or ECHO Director said they are expecting 20 million Euros as external supplementary intervention to South Sudan at the New York meeting next week.

Jean-Louis De Brower broke the news in Juba on Wednesday, adding that they need to prepare conditions for rebuilding the country.

The Director said there is a serious risk of hunger because of the political crisis in the country, warning that the new nation is moving from a bad year to a bad year.

He called on the humanitarian community to mobilize resources to face the consequences of the country’s situation.

Mr De Brower said the humanitarian situation requires a political solution, hopping that the ongoing peace talks in Addis Ababa under Intergovernmental Authority on Development or IGAD leadership would rebuild the South Sudan.

He expects the warring parties to reach an agreement within forty-five days to form a transitional government to facilitate humanitarian aid agencies in delivering aid to the needy.
