Culture A/Commissioner blames parents for poor child up bringing

Yei River County Culture, Youth and Sports Assistant Commissioner blamed some parents for poor child up bringing resulting to crimes that are later reversed to the government.
 
Kujo Bennett told parents to be close to their children to guide and discipline them from three to 12 years, Easter Radio reported.
 
He warned that if parents wait to advise or discipline their children above 12 years, it would be dangerous, urging them to avoid sending their small children to be baby-seaters.
 
Yei Municipal Legislative Council Speaker Mohammed Hassan Diko said getting rid of negative cultures within society, is collective responsibility.
 
He said the family is the first institution towards good child up bringing supported by partners and the government to save the ravaging cultures.
 
Khamis Moses, a resident in Yei called on the government to follow girls who are engaged in wrong life in lodges because most of them have careful parents but stubbornly undermined them.
 
The speakers made the remarks in an interactive session on Monday during the International Democracy Day commemoration in Yei under the theme: ‘Engaging young people on democracy’.
