Christians in the Catholic Diocese of Torit on Monday gathered for a requiem mass to pay tribute to Tombura-Yambio late Emeritus Bishop Joseph Abangite Gasi who died on Saturday.

Torit Vicar General Fr Arkangelo Lokoro while presiding over the mass called on Christians to emulate the life of Bishop Gasi, describing his death as a ‘joy’, Emmanuel Radio reported.

He urged Christians to celebrate life and death of Bishop Gasi as a journey planed by God, advising the faithful of the Diocese to offer the late Bishop’s soul to God in order to inherit his Kingdom.

The Vicar General encouraged Christians to consider the death of Bishop Gasi not as a loss because he went to live with God and other true believers.

Fr Lokoro noted that God called the late Bishop Gasi to be with him in heaven after he finished his time on earth.
