A team of Yei and Morobo Agriculture Officials, Agricultural Advisory Organization and some farmers started a two-day inspection of the seed multiplication project in Morobo County of Central Equatoria State.

Agricultural Advisory Organization Field Officer Emmanuel Bayiti on Monday told Easter Radio in a telephone interview that the inspection aims at producing quality seeds to avoid cross breeding and reduce foreign importation.

He added that the inspection targets seed germination, plant pattern and isolation distance.

The field officer said the team inspected maize noting required planting steps and spacing.

He urged farmers to embark on the local seed production to avoid importation dependency syndrome.
