Collaborazione Comitato Medica or CCM Organisation Coordinator said they are targeting to treat 2000 malnourished children in Tonj South and East of Warrap State.
Nutrition Field Coordinator Robert Magase said they admitted 280 both out patient and in patient malnourished children, Dan Bosco Radio reported.
He added they have outreach services to other locations, including Malual Ngok,
expressing commitment to expand their programs to Mabior-Yar, Panakdit, Mayielthon, Manyangok and Aguka health centres so that children are given weekly therapeutic food until they are better.
The Coordinator disclosed that they are training health workers to identify malnourished children in the villages and refer them to the health facilities to receive services.
He urged the entire community of greater Tonj to indentify malnourished children from the area for treatment.
The Coordinator appealed to parents, health workers and community leaders to ensure that children suffering from malnutrition are identified as many as possible and refer them to the health facilities.
He said hygiene and health promoters will go from house to house, identifying them and educate parents on better ways of feeding their children to avoid malnutrition.
