Central Equatoria State government on Friday commissioned newly appointed leaders for Yei River County and Municipality to office to improve service delivery.
State Local Government Minister Francis Gerard urged Commissioner Cosmas Bidali Sumbi and Mayor Santo Paul Lasuba to consider equality in leading diverse communities, Easter Radio reported.
He told the new leaders to denounce paying allegiance to tribal or self-interested politicians, but only to SPLM party.
Minister Gerald said the appointment of new leaders is meant to speed up delivery of services to citizens.
He told leaders to desist from rumour mongering, warning that it causes failure.
New Yei River County Commissioner Cosmas Bidali Sumbe said his first priority would be sustaining peace and security to pave way for effective service delivery.
New Mayor Santo Paul Lasuba calls for cooperation among citizens, government and the development partners.
The new leaders vowed to commit themselves to cooperation in administering the masses.
