Western Equatoria Governor called for proper and careful use of education money including capitation and operational grants from the national government to strengthen the learning system in the state.

Speaking during the closure of the two-day inspection workshop in Yambio last Friday, Bangasi Joseph Bakosoro urged all County Education Directors to be smart and creative in managing the grants, Anisa Radio reported.

He warned that anybody who would squander funds would seriously account for it without forgiveness.

Governor Bakosoro urged all stakeholders to be serious and responsible in their duties by inspecting schools and supporting the ‘go to school campaign’ in every village.

In another news development the Governor said education advocates should start educating parents not directly going to the children.

He stressed that the rights of children should be taught by the indigenous people because people of Western Equatoria have their own cultures different from other Africans or foreigners.

Governor Bakosoro said when foreigners teach small children child rights, kids misunderstand and end up becoming very stubborn to parents or run away from homes to end up in streets.

The Governor directed all the county directors not to allow anybody touring schools to teach about child rights without a written permission from his office.
