UN Food and Agriculture Organization or FAO said humanitarian aid agencies reduced food insecurity by increasing food to people in some conflict affected areas particularly in Unity State.

FAO Policy and Communication Officer Kevin Merkelz told CRN that IDPs and host communities got food in places which some agencies reached.

Mr Merkelz appealed to the warring parties and other players to end the crisis for people to return to their homes to cultivate.

Policy and Communication Officer said South Sudan would not face famine though there would be food insecurity in some parts of the country.
