The newly appointed Mayor of Torit in Eastern Equatoria was sworn-in to office on Monday before the State Governor.

Martin Odeki Ohuro replaced Stephen Osfaldo Loboli who was dismissed for malpractices raised by Torit county council about his impeachment, Emmanuel Radio reported.

Governor, Louis Lobong Lojore disclosed that former Mayor failed to form his own council and worked alone without consulting counsellors on other issues including re-distributing commercial plots but used Torit County council that later accused him.

He outlined difficulties in choosing a leader, saying people hide their true characters when lobbying for positions.

Governor Lobong cautioned the new Mayor that the council could still accuse him if he makes mistake in the office.

The former Governor was also blamed of corruption in managing taxes revenues.
