The SPLM-N spokesperson dismissed Sudanese official statement that the Movement declined an invitation to resume peace talks to end the conflict in Nuba Mountains and Blue Nile States.
Mubarak Ardol who was reacting to Sudanese Presidential Assistant heading government negotiating delegation, Ibrahim Ghandour on Saturday said SPLM-N did not refuse to restart negotiations, Voice of Peace reported.
Mr Ardol decried Mr Ghandour’s claims, clarifying that African Union or AU mediators only invited them for a consultation meeting on the national dialogue.
The spokesperson affirmed the presence of SPLM-N delegation in Addis Ababa to consult with AU officials on the national dialogue and their participation in the process.
Sudanese government officials announced earlier their keenness to involve armed movements in the dialogue.
