Agency for Independent Media or AIM and Human Rights Network Agency on Saturday launched non state actors project in Eastern Equatoria funded by the European Union and Oxfam Great Britain.
State Project Manager Dan David Lucima said the project that would be implemented in 18 Bomas of six Payams of Torit, Ikwoto and Magwi Counties, was meant to strengthen local authorities, civil society organizations and networks, Emmanuel Radio reported.
He added that the project also aimed to empower local communities to build more equitable, open and democratic society in South Sudan.
AIM Executive Director David De Dau urged civil society organizations to collaborate with Eastern Equatoria State Assembly members in the development of Bills.
He said the project would help generate county development plans to be implemented by the Local Government.
Torit County Commissioner German Charles Ojok while launching the project commended AIM for sharing information on the project with different stakeholders in the state.
