Bongo grammar and dictionary translation workshop concluded on Friday in Tonj South County of Warrap State.

Bongo Literacy Officer Daniel Rabbi Moi said they wrote more than 1,000 words for the grammar and dictionary in eleven days, Don Bosco Radio reported.

Mr Rabbi expressed happiness that after the workshop Bongo communities have a grammar book and a dictionary in the website for their readers, saying it was the community’s responsibility to produce more books.

A participant, Mary Michael, encouraged the entire Bongo community to teach their children their language at home.

She advised parents and guardians to send their children to school because they are the future of the country.

Ms Michael urged Bongo community members to teach their children their language before learning English in the school.
