United Nations or UN Resident Representative in South Sudan on Thursday vowed to support journalists to uphold their operation.

Toby Lanzer said journalists’ role in projecting all voices of South Sudanese with impartiality is crucial for a change of political weather for a better future.

He told all media practitioners that UN guarantees opportunity for their operation with comfort in the country.

Mr Lanzer hailed journalists, encouraging them to carry on with their job to determine the future of South Sudan.

He told journalists to be frank and honest to seek any help from the UN.

Journalists in South Sudan work under fear and threat evidenced with the recent detention of Bakhita Radio Editor Ocen David Nicholas and continuous closure of the station.
