Yei River County Agriculture Assistant Commissioner urged politicians to invest in cultivation as a source of economic reliability.
Edmond Taban Gogo advised the young generation to make good use of the soil as an alternative to alleviate poverty, dependency syndrome and importation of food, Easter Radio reported.
Mr Gogo called on Boda-boda riders and idle young generation to intensively cultivate and produce local food to support their families and relieve parents from over responsibility.
The Assistant Commissioner also urged the farmers to target the market and take risks while keeping the progress in quality and quantity production of local food.
He announced that during the second season starting from August to late October, framers should grow cereals, legumes and horticultural crops.
The County Agriculture Commissioner was speaking to Easter Radio in an exclusive interview on Wednesday.
