EE Governor says opposition demands unrealistic

Eastern Equatoria Governor said SPLM/A in opposition led Dr Riek Machar demands’ were unrealistic showing lack of political will to bring peace in the country.
 
Louis Lobong Lojore told the Parliament on Monday that President Salva Kiir was ready for peaceful settlement of the conflict in the country, unlike the opposition, Emmanuel Radio reported.
 
He said the president offered the position of the second vice president to Dr Machar yet they demand for 70 percent political share in governance.
 
Governor Lobong called on the opposition leader to show nationalism and desist from selfish tendencies, urging Dr Machar to focus on the plights of suffering South Sudanese in camps and accept peace.
 
Acting speaker of the state Assembly Paul Napwon said opposition frequent violation of ceasefire embarrasses hopes and aspirations for peace in the country and people are losing hope making the future of the country gloomy.
 
He called on the national government and the opposition to seek peaceful solutions to resolve the current crisis in the country.
