El Obeid Diocesan staff lost to the students’ football team in a friendly match on Wednesday in Kumbur Payam of Heiban County in Nuba Mountains.
The match started at 4:55 PM with Diocesan staff Hidar Hassari scoring the first goal at 6:17 PM against the students’ team, Voice of Peace reported.
Nine minutes later, student Kumi Hadana tore the Diocesan staff goal with an equalizer.
The staff could not stand the challenge of students and were humiliated when the students scored the second goal.
The staff complained after their main goalkeeper Kalu Caesar resigned unexpectedly and decided to play as a striker.
The students said they did not perform satisfactorily because they had a little time to practice.
The match ended at 7:30 PM 2-1 with students’ victory over the staff.
The next competition will take place after Easter and will include volleyball competition.
