South Sudan Human Rights Defenders Network in a one-day meeting on Thursday in Juba revealed a plan to put down strategies for protecting activists.
The Network chairperson Edmond Yakani told CRN that the meeting aimed at laying strategies to protect and sensitize activists on risks and security assessment and safety of work.
Mr Yakani said the Network was established in 2011 to protect human rights defenders who are under threats including journalists, civil society organizations and voluntary column writers.
He called on activists to immediately report threats by an individual or group of people for the Network to intervene and rescue the situation.
The Chairperson made the statement after a one-day meeting to work out the governance system of the Network on how it can help in protecting activists.
