Yei Municipal authorities called on community leaders to avail land for constructing a modern slaughter house.
Deputy Mayor Silvano Ali said in Yei, land belongs to communities and that chiefs do not agree on the government proposal for a plot to build the house, Easter Radio reported.
He said if chiefs allocate a plot to the Municipality, it would help mitigate consumption of poor quality meat.
The Deputy Mayor made the call after consumers complained that the meat in the market was not examined or inspected for the last five months.
