Saint Bakhita Health Centre in Yei Catholic Diocese reported eleven new leprosy cases since the start of this year.
The Medical Doctor Veronica Rackova said out of 1,176 suspects screened, 28 cases were recorded in 2013, Easter Radio reported.
She said 56 patients are under care and that the stigma of lepers was diminishing.
The Doctor cautioned citizens to go for medical test, saying everybody is at risk of leprosy.
She said early treatment of leprosy could avoid disability.
