Yei River County meat consumers expressed worry over consuming unexamined meat which they described as dangerous to their health.
Some anonymous buyers said many times they buy poor quality meat, calling on the local authorities to intervene before diseases outbreak, Easter Radio reported.
Animal Resources and Fisheries Assistant Commissioner Samuel Milton Ismail confirmed that there was no meat inspection carried out since October 2013.
He disclosed that the routine work came to a standstill when the Yei Municipal authority issued a local order stopping meat inspection over fined collections.
