The Upper Kumu Model Primary School in Kumbur Payam of Heiban County in Nuba Mountains on Monday commemorated the day of the late Nuba leader Yousif Kuwa Makki.
The school head teacher Anggalu Chaluga Ketinyi told Voice of Peace that the late Kuwa Mekki was the man who opened the eyes of Nuba people through chances of education.
He called on parents to support children’s education to become like Yousif Kuwa Mekki in pursuing their goals.
The late Yousif Kuwa Makki, Nuba Mountains liberator died on March 31, 2001 and the former Deputy Southern Kordofan Governor General Abdul Aziz Adam AlHilu took over.
