National ministry of Transport, Road and Bridges and Kit Enterprise and Contractors Company on Monday signed a contract for the construction of Amadi-Tali road to the tune of 22.2 million South Sudanese Pounds.

Transport, Road and Bridges Minister Kwong Danhier Gatluak described the road as a very vital source of economic development in the country, Bakhita Radio reported.

He said the road construction was very important because Tali is not only the heart of South Sudan but the whole Africa as the British earlier indicated.

The Minister said the ministry contracted a consultant to supervise the work on behalf of the government.

The construction is expected to complete after 15 months.

The signing ceremony was attended by the officials from Western and Central Equatoria states.
