Yei Vicar General announced on Sunday at Christ the King Cathedral that the fifteenth diocesan annual meeting resolved that Christians have to pay decima.
Fr Zachariah Angutuwa explained that working people and students would pay according to their status, Easter Radio reported.
He clarified that paying decima is the obligation of the Catholic Church in the world.
The Vicar general said the diocese was not pressing Christians to pay decima before, but that catechists would be informed so that Christians adhere to it.
