Current political crisis to affect children

The many killings and abuses due to the current political crisis would negatively affect South Sudan’s children.

This was the observation of South Sudan SOS Children’s Village Project Manager Kiros Aregawi in an interview to CRN, who called on leaders and NGOs to exert more efforts to cure traumatized children in Malakal, Bor, Bentiu and the whole country.

Mr Aregawi encouraged people hiding with some children separated from their parents during the crisis, to report to UNICEF or other child protection actors.

He advised relatives taking care of children who were separated with their parents to protect them from abuses including child soldiering.

The Manager said children brought from Malakal would be returned when the situation stabilizes.
