Catholic University give farewell to former Vice Chancellor

Students of Catholic University of South Sudan Wau, Western Bahr El Ghazal branch on Friday organized a farewell ceremony for the former Vice Chancellor who served for six years.
 
The Dean of Agriculture Faculty Daniel Akau Opio appreciated Fr Michael Schultheis for his great leadership, hard work and great love for South Sudanese, Voice of Hope reported.
 
He described the former Vice Chancellor as a man of good hope who tirelessly worked for the better future of South Sudan through education.
 
Dr AKau Acknowledged the role played by Fr Schultheis in setting up a higher institution in the country to fight illiteracy.
 
He added that the University students and graduates will not forget their founder for his great work of implementing many projects in the country.
 
Fr Schultheis cited challenges he encountered including lack of qualified South Sudanese lecturers, few students and limited resources to run the institution.
 
He urged Bahr El Ghazal community in particular and South Sudan in general to encouraged girls’ education especially in environmental studies.
 
Fr Schultheis advised all students to have great hope and not surrender when facing difficulties.
 
The Faculty Director Fr Solomon Ewot encouraged the students to continue reading the many books Fr Schultheis brought to increase their knowledge.
 
He announced that the administration will name the library: Professor Fr Michael Schultheis to remember his long service in the Catholic University of South Sudan.
 
Dr Matthew Pagan succeeded Fr Michael Schultheis last November.
