Uru residents call for water supply

Uru residents of Kumbur Payam, Heiban County in Nuba Mountains called on authorities called for water supply by drilling boreholes to reduce the scarcity facing them in the area.
 
One of the women, Hawadia Abdallah Hamouda on Thursday said face inadequate water service due to only one borehole in Uru where the number of people is great, Voice of Peace reported.
 
She demanded additional boreholes to avoid overcrowding and fighting at the water source.
 
Ms Abdallah said there is no single grinding mill to help women in the area.
 
An elderly man said they there have no health centre and medicine for sick people.
 
The residents also complained lack of transport to take sick people to the far hospital.
 
They demanded Kumbur Payam authorities to provide their basic services.
