Yei Chamber of Commerce Acting Chairperson on Tuesday said some wholesalers introduced wheelbarrow selling to monopolize retail business.
Lucy Consi Kolog said local authorities last year tracked down wholesalers operating both in whole and retail sales, Easter Radio reported.
She observed that wholesalers dominate by using young children to sell as mobile traders in the town though some of them obtained only licenses of wholesale.
Ms Consi said the Chamber would continue to cooperate with the Municipal authority to find a solution to wholesale’s monopoly on business in Yei.
Local traders complained that wholesalers’ prices were cheaper than retailers’ and domination affects their businesses.
