Yei County Football Association banned Black O4 Football Club from sports activities for two years after fighting a centre referee.

The Association Chairperson John James Wani told Easter Radio in a telephone interview on Saturday that the club players beat the referee when he sent off one of their team member in a match with Fly United Club.

He said the players took law into their hands instead of submitting complaints to the national Football Association after the match.

The Chairperson quoted article 88 of South Sudan Football Association rules and regulations, saying players have the right to complain against referees.

Mr James called on players to respect referees and comply with football rules and regulations for sports to develop in the country.

He said Black O4 Football Club players would not transfer to another club within the ban period.

The ban was pronounced effective from March 19, 2014 to March 19, 2016.
