Tonj South County Town Mayor on Thursday urged the business community to keep their trading places clean in town.

Marko Mabior Ajiec urged all traders, restaurants owners, tea sellers and other businesses to burn rubbish and plastic sheets after using them, Don Bosco Radio reported.

He said some traders kept empty bottle, cartons, plastic sheets and other rubbish in front of shops.

The Mayor explained that garbage attracts many flies and bring diseases like diarrhoea and cholera.

He urged the members of public and traders who were sleeping in the market to hire houses outside trading centres.

Mr Mabior also urged police forces to hunt criminals who want to break traders’ shops and attack people in town.

He added that the aim of stopping sleeping in the market was to prevent crimes in the town.

Town Mayor Mabior Ajiec advised all people to keep themselves clean and use clean water to prevent water borne diseases.
