Minister emphasizes teaching South Sudan curriculum

Western Equatoria Minister of Education emphasized on teaching South Sudan School Curriculum at all levels in the state.
 
Pia Philip Michael made the emphasis during a consultative meeting with Yambio and Nzara Counties secondary school teachers on Thursday, Anisa Radio reported.
 
He insisted that school children must learn and embrace national curriculum and syllabus that contain cultures and norms of South Sudanese.
 
Minister Philip asked the teachers to send a list of critical books missing in their schools to the ministry to purchase.
 
Secondary Schools Director Stanley Diisi said in 2014 all secondary schools have to prepare senior four candidates to sit for South Sudan Certificate Exams.
 
He announced that Senior Four candidates would sit for mock exams in October.
 
A Member of the Parliament Ettero Mbembe agreed changing from Sudan to South Sudan syllabus to prepare intellects knowledgeable of the cultures of South Sudan.
 
Secondary School teachers requested the Ministry to train them with teaching methodologies.
 
They also complained about lack of South Sudanese syllabus’ reference books.
