Cabinet on Friday’s ordinary sitting passed a resolution that Defence and National Security Ministers who recently visited Khartoum should expedite the demarcation of a proposed border between South Sudan and Sudan.
Government spokesperson Michael Makuei Lueth told journalists in Juba that Kuol Manyang Juuk and Obuto Mamur Mete discussed bilateral cooperation between Juba and Khartoum.
He added that cabinet agreed that border demarcation should be speedily made to pave way for the opening of corridors for trade and free movement of citizens of either nation.
Mr Makuei observed that the demarcation process was delayed by the political crisis that befell the country.
The spokesperson said the Council of Ministers also approved 3.2 million South Sudanese Pounds for assessment and rehabilitation of education facilities especially schools devastated by the ongoing conflict in the country.
Mr Makuei added that the education ministry established a committee for the assessment and implementation of the project.
The Government spokesperson said cabinet directed the Roads and Finance Ministries to avail fund for the construction of Juba- Bor, Bor-Ayod, Bor-Canal and Juba-Torit Roads before full resumption of the rainy season.
Mr Makuei observed that the named roads would be impassable in the mid of rainy season.
The spokesperson said cabinet congratulated SPLA for recapturing Malakal city of Upper Nile State and that security situation all over the country was normal.
