Thousands remember late Bishop Johnson Akio

Thousands of Christians in Torit Catholic Diocese on Tuesday turned up at Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral in memory of the late Bishop Johnson Akio Mutek.
 
Monsignor Thomas Oliha praised the life of the late Bishop Johnson Akio Mutek, Emmanuel Radio reported.
 
He noted that as a member of a wealthy family, Johnson Akio chose priesthood instead of taking earthly life.
 
Monsignor Oliha described Bishop Johnson Akio as peace maker and acknowledged his commitments to unite the people in the Diocese amidst their diversity.
 
Bishop Akio passed away on Monday March 18, 2013 in Nairobi, Kenya after suffering kidney complication.
 
Born in January 1958 to Lazarus Mutek and Lydia Ikoliok, the late Bishop Akio was laid to rest on Friday March 22, 2013 at Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral.
 
Eastern Equatoria state also marked a month since the death of the speaker of the Assembly Ambrose Emmanuel Ocholimoi.
