The Pontifical President of Peace and Justice Commission in Vatican who opened the new Church of St Joseph Parish on Wednesday asked South Sudanese to pray for perfect peace.
Cardinal Turkson Peter Kwadwo Appiah advised South Sudanese to pray for an end to gunshots ones and for all.
He appreciated St Joseph’s parishioners for the ‘marvelous’ work of building a new church from their local contributions.
Cardinal Kwadwo pledged to support the completion of the new Church through the Archbishop of Juba, Paolino Lukudu Loro.
The Apostolic Nuncio to South Sudan Archbishop Charles Daniel Balvo congratulated St Joseph’s parishioners and the faithful of the Archdiocese of Juba for building a new Church.
He described the new Church as a big achievement of the local Christians of St Joseph’s parish and the Archdiocese.
Archbishop Lukudu Loro said the building of the new church manifests a very good spirit and maturity in the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba and South Sudan.
The opening of St Joseph’s parish new church in Juba attracted many Bishops, Apostolic Administrators, priests, brothers and sisters and faithful from across the country.
Many young Christians said St Joseph Parish church opening is the first they witnessed while the elderly Christians said it was the second because they witnessed the opening of St Theresa’s Cathedral Kator in 1962.
