Western Bahr El Ghazal Crisis Management Committee mobilized 1,500 new recruits at Bacilia Payam of Wau County.

The new recruits comprises of one thousand former army officials and 500 army aspirants currently getting training at Bacilia Centre, Voice of Hope reported.

The Committee chairperson Zechariah Joseph Garang said the recruitment process was a normal government exercise aiming at formation of the national army.

He dismissed claims that the government wants to recruit the army to track the rebelling soldiers fighting the government.

Mr Joseph termed those against the recruitment as people who lost the spirit of nationalism.

He called on the Wau County youths to abandon charcoal work and join national service to defend the Country.

The official made the remark on Saturday during Crisis Management Committee’s visit to Bacilia Army Training Centre.
