South Sudan Law Society in Yei on Monday enlightened citizens on Constituency Development Fund or CDF Act 2009.

The Society Aid Officer Data John said the awareness dialogue enlightens citizens on the use of CDF, Easter Radio reported.

He quoted the Transitional Constitution article 46 that allows every citizen to protect the nation’s sovereignty, promotion of peace, accountability and transparency.

Mr Data added that the article allows citizens to promote respect for the rule of law and good governance.

The officer said they noted incorrect implementation of CDF including mismanagement of funds, lack of transparency and accountability.

He said it was important to train citizens on their rights so that they could hold CDF concerned leaders accountable.

Mr Data said they planned to conduct more dialogues in the county on CDF.
