Yambio County Traffic Police department recorded 18 accidents within one week.
This was revealed in a meeting between traffic department and the Physical Infrastructure ministry on Thursday to discuss possibilities to sustain Yambio town repaired roads, Anisa Radio reported.
Traffic Police Officer Carbino Kwen explained that the 18 accidents in Yambio town included two death cases just after the maintenance of the road last week.
He added that they were making more efforts to ensure that all drivers and riders have license and their vehicles have number plates.
Physical Infrastructure Minister Clement Juma Mbugoniwia said drivers and riders were over speeding since the roads were maintained.
He urged the people putting electricity cable underground on the road to stop this practice because it was dangerous.
Physical Infrastructure Director General Richard Issa Mizani called on people to stop parking cars any how in the town to avoid squeezing the road.
