More then three thousand students of the University of Bahr El Ghazal marched in Wau streets on Friday calling on the national government to arrest or evict the United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS’ head Hilde Johnson.
The demonstration came after the students on Tuesday gave the Mission 72 hours to answer issues related to the alleged intercepted 11 trucks in Lakes state, Voice of Hope reported.
Students’ representative Dwoki Moses Ismail called for thorough investigation of UNMISS involvement into the national issues and dismissal of its head and the Force Commander who denied their support to the opposition.
The students submitted their second letter to the Mission’s office in Wau and to the state government
Western Bahr El Ghazal UNMISS Coordinator Winy Babahuga called for calm and peace in the state.
She expressed readiness to forward the statement to the highest level of the United Nations.
State Governor Rizik Zachariah Hassan warned that UNMISS misbehaviour in one part of the country would automatically affect the whole organization.
