Solid waste management and insecurity raised concerns of the Atlabara residential area authorities in Juba.
Atlabara ‘C’ chairperson George Jake Gabriel told journalists on Saturday that there was much accumulation of solid waste affecting residents in many ways.
He complained that rampant gun shooting was seriously taking place in the area since it broke out in December 15.
Mr Jake called for deployment of soldiers to avoid unnecessary shooting.
The chairperson also called for proper disposal of solid waste.
Mr Jake cautioned that poor disposal of waste would breed mosquitoes, germs, flies and cause diseases like diarrhoea malaria, typhoid and cholera.
