Kenya recommits to South Sudan capacity building initiative

The Government of Kenya reaffirmed its commitment to South Sudan Inter-Governmental Authority on Development or IGAD’s Capacity Enhancement Initiative.
 
Devolution and Planning Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru said Kenya was ready to participate in phase two of the project expected to begin soon.
 
She made the remarks on Monday during a workshop in Nairobi for 26 Kenyan Civil Service Support Officers who were deployed to South Sudanese public service sectors.
 
Ms Waiguru said the two years in South Sudan was a learning experience for the Support Officers in addition to mentoring and coaching their South Sudanese counterparts.
 
UNDP South Sudan Deputy Country Director Amanda Serumaga said the Civil Service Support Officers were catalysts for change in many ways.
 
The Official added that their efforts would remain a positive driver for growth and development in South Sudan.
