Community Empowerment for Progress Organization or CEPO is training paralegals in Wau, Western Bahr El Ghazal to enlighten communities on laws and human rights.
CEPO Director Edmond Yakani told Voice of Hope Radio on Tuesday that the training would enable the paralegals to sensitize communities on human rights violations.
He said the paralegals would work hand in hand with the state legal authorities to help reduce crimes.
Mr Yakani explained that the workshop was equipping legal aid workers to participate in the next joint training which would include police, judiciary and prison.
The Director pointed out that citizens should always be ready to turn up for any sensitization workshop to understand legal procedures.
The training which drew together 22 participants from five local organizations was funded by Trocaire.
