Yei Catholic Diocese on Tuesday started its three-day annual meeting with a call for concentrated efforts to tackle challenges.

The meeting would review last year’s resolutions and recommendations and develop implementation mechanisms of the five-year strategic plan, Easter Radio reported.

Vicar General Zachariah Angutwa Sebit urged the participants to be simple, sincere and truthful in presenting reports.

He recalled the words of Bishop Erkulano Lodu who described the annual meeting as simple, but focused in the evaluation of diocesan activities.

The Vicar General stressed the need to embark and support financially the implementation of the 2014-2019 strategic plan.

He said some people would be selected to conduct fundraising in order to support the implementation of the plan.

The annual meeting would also explore ways forward to fulfil the 40 days of prayers, fasting and charity for peace, justice and reconciliation in South Sudan.

The three-day annual meeting which started on Tuesday is expected to end on Thursday.
