The Supreme Court on Tuesday morning ruled that the case of alleged mid December coup suspects be open to the media and the public.

Bakhita Radio Journalist Michael Thon told CRN in a telephone that the court proceedings on the suspects would be open for public and media consumption.

He added that court attendants could be allowed to record, take pictures and videos on camera.

Mr Thon said government advocates applied that the case be out of camera, but court rejected the application.

He explained that the court was tabling the case against Pagan Amum Okiech, Ezekiel Lul, Oyay Deng Ajak and Dr Majak De Agot.

Mr Thon said once the court studied that there were no sufficient evidences to justify the case proceeding, it would be thrown out that ‘there is no case to answer’.

Bakhita Radio Journalist observed that the court is independent from the executive influence.
