A heavy rain characterized with hailstorm and strong wind on Friday night reportedly destroyed many shelters in Juba, blowing away tents, fences and roofs.
Eyewitnesses said the storm engulfed the city suddenly around nine O’ clock in the night, disrupting joint sittings and supper.
Roads became muddy and others impassible in some areas including Munuki.
Pedestrians and vehicles scramble over passable roads reducing traffic movements for employees going to work on Saturday morning.
One of the Munuki residents said their fence collapsed exposing inhabitants.
It is the first Juba heaviest downpour in 2014, showing the approach of rainy season in a disastrous style as early as March.
